This policy describes exactly what this website stores on your device. It is short, because the answer is very little.
Does this website use cookies?
No. Browsing the public pages of the Synergy Safeguarding website sets no cookies on your device at all. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to ask your permission for.
Do you track or analyse visitors?
No. We use no analytics, no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not know which pages you have read.
How do you know how the site is performing?
We use Google Search Console, which tells us how the site appears in search results: how often it comes up, where it ranks, and how many people click through. Search Console reads Google's own search index rather than placing anything on your device, so no cookie is set and nothing is collected from your browser as a result.
What does the site store on my device?
One thing, and only if you ask for it. If you use the light and dark theme switch in the top corner of any page, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name "theme", so the site looks the way you left it next time you visit. It holds a single word, either "light" or "dark". It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it contains nothing that identifies you.
If you never touch the theme switch, nothing is stored and the site follows whatever light or dark setting your device already uses.
Is there any cookie anywhere on the site?
One, and no visitor will ever meet it. There is a password-protected page that only Synergy Safeguarding staff use to edit the words on this website. Signing in there sets a single session cookie so the sign-in is remembered for the length of that session. It is used only to keep that person signed in, it cannot be read by JavaScript, and it is never set for anyone browsing the public site.
What about embedded content and links?
This site embeds nothing from anywhere else. There are no videos, maps, fonts, social feeds or scripts loaded from third-party platforms, so none of them can set anything on your device through us. The site does link out to our partners and to LinkedIn, and those websites have their own cookie policies once you arrive.
If we ever do embed third-party content here, a video or a map for example, the platform providing it may set its own cookies when you interact with it. Should that change, we will update this policy and, where required, introduce a consent mechanism before any such cookies are set.
What happens when I send the contact form?
Sending the contact form sets no cookies either, but it does send us what you typed. How that message is handled, who processes it and how long it is kept, is set out in our Privacy Notice.
Your choices
There is nothing here to opt out of, so there is no preference centre to visit. If you want to clear the saved theme choice, clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes it, and every page will still work exactly as before. Blocking storage for this site entirely also costs you nothing beyond the theme being forgotten between visits.
Will this policy change?
Only if what the site does changes. If our use of cookies ever changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, introduce appropriate consent controls at the same time.
