What is Synergy Safe accreditation?
Synergy Safe is the safeguarding accreditation awarded by Synergy Safeguarding, at one of three levels: Safeguarding Essentials (Level 1), Safeguarding Advanced (Level 2) or Safeguarding Excellence (Level 3). Every organisation is accredited at a single level, based on the highest level of contact with people at risk found anywhere in it, and can then evidence that accreditation to funders, regulators, procurement teams and the people it serves.
How is the accreditation level decided?
The level is set by the highest level of contact with people at risk found anywhere in your organisation. Every accreditation starts with a genuine gap analysis of your organisation, not a generic questionnaire. Within a single accreditation level, training is then tailored by role, so back-office roles receive proportionate safeguarding awareness and frontline roles receive the full depth their work requires.
Which accreditation level applies to my organisation?
Safeguarding Essentials (Level 1) is for organisations and contractors without direct contact with people at risk, who want to evidence a safe, responsible organisation and supply chain. Safeguarding Advanced (Level 2) is for those regularly working in homes and communities, where staff may encounter adults or children at risk. Safeguarding Excellence (Level 3) is for those working in higher-risk settings such as supported housing, temporary accommodation, refuge accommodation, hostels, older person or care schemes, where in-depth knowledge and heightened vigilance are essential.
Can an organisation hold more than one accreditation level?
No. Each organisation is accredited at a single level, so the public-facing claim stays simple and verifiable: one badge, one level. The training delivery underneath it is tailored and proportionate, so different roles receive different depth within that one accreditation.
Do you accredit individuals or the whole organisation?
Accreditation is awarded to the organisation, not to individuals. Individual learners each receive their own certificate, and the organisation holds one accreditation level covering everyone in it.
What are the steps to becoming Synergy Safe?
There are six steps: Enquire, Gap analysis, Tailored bundle, Delivery and evidence, Certification, and Annual review. It is the same six-step process for every organisation we work with, and nothing is generic or assumed before real diagnostic work happens.
Is accreditation a questionnaire or a tick-box exercise?
No. Every accreditation starts with a genuine gap analysis of your organisation rather than a generic questionnaire, and what is built around you is tailored, not a fixed package.
What do we receive when we become Synergy Safe?
On completion you receive a certificate for every learner, certification of your accreditation level, the Synergy Safe logo for that level, and support writing a bespoke statement for your website and promotional material.
How long does accreditation last?
Accreditation is reviewed annually, so it reflects accountability as your organisation grows and as legislation and risk profiles shift. Your logo and certification are licensed for use while your accreditation is active.
How long can I use the Synergy Safe logo?
Your Synergy Safe logo and certification are licensed for use while your accreditation is active. If accreditation lapses or isn't renewed, this usage right ends.
Where can we display the Synergy Safe logo?
The Synergy Safe logo is for your website and tender or procurement documentation, your funding bids and promotional material, and your Board or governance reporting. Contractors also use it on vehicles and workwear, as a visible mark of reassurance wherever the team is working.
How much does accreditation cost?
We don't publish prices, because what an organisation needs is decided by a real gap analysis rather than sold as a fixed package. Pricing is discussed after a conversation, and you will know exactly what is included and what it costs before you commit to anything. The Safeguarding Health Check that starts the process is free.
Do back-office staff need the same training as frontline staff?
No. Within a single accreditation, training is tailored by role, so lower-contact and back-office roles such as trustees, Board members and support functions receive proportionate safeguarding awareness, while frontline roles receive the full depth their work requires.
