Synergy Safeguarding provides specialist safeguarding and domestic abuse consultancy, training, bespoke support, with 3 levels of accreditation for organisations and contractors who work in communities and homes - to proudly demonstrate they are ‘Synergy Safe’ accredited.
Organisations and contractors play a significant part in safeguarding as they are well placed to identify potential risks and be proactive in the prevention of abuse and neglect.
Synergy Safeguarding creates safer workforces and communities by fostering a culture of vigilance and responsibility in organisations and contractors to respond to safeguarding, ensuring legislative compliance.

Level 1 accreditation:
Safeguarding Essentials

For organisations and contractors who may not work directly with vulnerable individuals in communities and homes, but who wish to have an awareness of safeguarding & domestic abuse, and aspire to evidence that they operate as a safe contractor with a safe workforce and supply chain.

Organisations and contractors have Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse e-learning.
Digital safety checks - Safeguard-Me app.
Modern Slavery statement (if applicable).
Safeguarding & Domestic abuse support as required.

Accreditation costs between £1K - £3K depending on the size of the organisation.
The e-learning costs, ‘Safeguard-Me’ app, and DBS are additional depending on requirements and how many users.
Additional consultancy costs can be added to create any bespoke package that may benefit your organisation and workforce.

Upon successful accreditation, the following will be awarded:
CPD certificate for all learners
Certification of completed Synergy Safe level 1 accreditation.
Synergy Safe level 1 Safeguarding Essentials logo
Support to write a bespoke statement for your website and any other promotional material.
Your accreditation will be reviewed annually.
The Accreditation Synergy Safe Logo and certification are licensed for use solely during the active subscription period. Upon expiration, cancellation, or non-renewal, all rights to use the logo and certification are immediately revoked.
Level 2 accreditation:
Safeguarding Advanced

For organisations and contractors that work in communities and homes and therefore may come into contact with vulnerable adults and / or children.
This includes contractors who are procured to carry out activities on behalf of another business.
The organisation or contractor is required to be compliant, competent, and confident in Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse processes.
Contractors are to understand the importance of identifying safeguarding & domestic abuse concerns and have accountability to report and pass on concerns.
The organisation or contractors is able to evidence they operate with a safe workforce and supply chain.

Advanced safeguarding & domestic abuse training that can be tailored as required.
Digital staff safety checks - Safeguard-Me app.
Designated Safeguarding lead appointed (where appropriate_ - support and supervision options available as required.
Support with writing policies, procedures, frameworks, and statements (inc Modern Slavery). Toolkits guidance for ease of referencing.
Safeguarding audits / health checks / gaps analysis including guidance on monitoring concerns raised
Support to review Social Value contribution and ESG commitments to evidence positive impact.

Safeguarding Excellence

Organisations and contractors who work in homes and communities where they are likely to come into regular contact with vulnerable adults and / or children. Therefore, the workforce will need to be extra vigilant requiring more in depth knowledge of Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse procedures and practices.
For example - supported housing, temporary accommodation, hostels, older person or care schemes.
Organisations and contractors are able to demonstrate they operate with a safe workforce and supply chain.

In depth training tailored specific to the requirements of the learners.
Digital staff safety checks inc DBS compliance - Safeguard-me app
Designated Safeguarding lead(s) appointed and mentoring supervision options available

Meet the Founder
Synergy Safeguarding is founded and owned by Hazel O’Halloran with over 25 years working with housing associations, local authorities, social care, and charities, from frontline to the Board. Hazel holds significant experience in implementing and embedding safeguarding practices across a range of organisations.
Previously trained as a Specialist Practitioner in Safeguarding Adults whilst working in Adult Social Care, and a Train the Trainer for both children and adults safeguarding.
With a strong background in homelessness, safeguarding & domestic abuse, and community investment, Hazel has a deep understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable people. As an ambassador for social change, she has been involved in commissioning safeguarding audits, managing key risk indicators and governance, enhancing approaches to safeguarding, including learning and development to create a greater understanding of the importance of safeguarding and accountability held by all.
Her efforts for raising awareness of safeguarding & domestic abuse were formally recognised as a winner at the National Housing Awards for ‘Campaign of the Year’.
Drawing on extensive sector experience, Hazel is honoured to speak at various conferences, webinars, podcasts, and has contributed to academia by delivering modules for a university, sharing sector insights and best practice.
Her experience also extends to being a Non-Executive Director at Brighter Futures housing association, specialising in safeguarding, being an Associate for Safeguarding Associates For Excellence (SAFE), as well as voluntary positions as a WISH (Women in Social Housing) Board member, and a mentor for the Housing Diversity Network (HDN).
Hazel is privileged to be able to be bring together both professional expertise and personal lived experience and is very much looking forward to being able to support your organisations and workforces.
